7 Pool Maintenance Tips For Summer

Summer Pool Maintenance

As the temperatures rise, there’s no time like the present to get started on your summer home maintenance projects. We’ve compiled a list of tasks to do so you can enjoy your home, both inside and out, while the weather is warm.

Check the Water Quality

The first thing you’ll need to remember when maintaining your pool is to make sure that you’re testing the water qualityoften and adding the right chemicals to the water.

Clean the Filter

The next thing you need to remember to do when maintaining your pool is to clean the filter regularly. While you won’t need to clean the filter as often as you check the chemicals, it’s still important to do to make sure your pool is looking good and working as it should be.

Scrub every week

A no-brainer. Skimming leaves and other debris from the surface of the water is obvious, but you have to do it consistently.

Get It Professionally Serviced

While you can do a lot on your own to ensure that your pool is maintained well, nothing beats a professional servicing. It’s a good idea to get at least one professional servicing for your pool every single year to ensure that it remains in good shape.

Check the chemical levels

Buy a water testing kit to check the chemistry of your pool regularly. When you already know your water levels, you can start adding chemicals to create a balance, not so acid nor alkaline, and just the right amount of chlorine.

Covering Your Pool

Keeping your pool covered while not in use can save you lots of cleaning time and effort. It also helps prevent water evaporation and protects your pool from environmental exposures that can adversely react with the chlorine.

Prepare For the Winter

The next thing you need to remember when maintaining your pool is that you always need to be ready for winter.

By doing a few things to winterize your pool you’ll avoid a lot of potential issues and make sure that it’s still in great shape when the next summer season rolls around.
